SMARTMETER ERIA

SMARTMETER ERIA (hereinafter, ERIA) is a demand sensor fitted with an environment-oriented multifunction monitor to visualize the status of electricity usage through numbers and Nico chan’s expression. This is an easy-to-understand method of informing people, even those with little awareness of electricity. It is equipped with various functions that seamlessly lead to energy conservation activities regardless of the operation.
*SMARTMETER is a NIHON TECHNO registered trademark.

Notifying the status of electricity usage through 3 levels of facial expressions and color changes

Nico chan notifies the status of electricity usage relative to the set targets through 3 levels of facial expressions and color changes.

Nico chan Green is Good
Nico chan Yellow is Take care
Nico chan Red is Using too much
Nico chan Blue is Good

Items that can be confirmed

  • Demand (kW)
  • Electricity usage (kWh)

“Effective use of electricity” by setting the amount of electricity used for each time period

Electric power companies measure the average electricity usage for each 30 minutes with the electronic electricity meter that has built in a total for maximum demand electricity. The largest value during a 1-year period is taken to be the maximum demand electricity (maximum demand value/ peak electricity).
*“Effective use of electricity mode” is a NIHON TECHNO registered trademark. Patent No. 4962813

Set 48-time blocks to realize the “Effective use of electricity

The SMART CLOCK LED changes color relative to the set value for each set time period on the SMARTMETER ERIA’s “Effective use of electricity” screen.

Switching the SMART CLOCK LED display mode and setting the target relative to the electricity use is conducted from the SMARTMETER ERIA.

NIHON TECHNO’s own energy conservation method “Effective use of electricity” divides the 24 hours in a day into 30-minute time periods (48-time blocks in a day) and sets the target electricity usage in line with the respective time periods, enabling a reduction in the peak electric power and the volume of electric power usage (area).

    <Load curve>
A curve displaying the change in the volume of electric power used in a day or a year is referred to as a load curve. Understanding the load curve in conjunction with changes in the business environment, regional characteristics and seasons, and setting reasonable targets lead to effective energy conservation.
